Delnay and Zane: The Adventures of Overcomers
Zane and Delnay met in the small town of Plettenberg Bay. They were both very young, in other relationships, and very much not in love.
Years later, it was their friends who saw a potential spark. Forcing the stubborn two to sit through many little, and what then seemed to be failed, set-ups. But their friends persevered. And thank heavens they did because, although their relationship was a little taboo in this little town, the two love birds eventually could not stay away and finally started dating.
Not long after, the young couple knew it was the real deal, and Zane, in his own words, promised ``I will marry you, even if it’s the last thing I do``. And in May 2020, five years after they officially started dating and slap-bam in the middle of the pandemic, the couple welcomed Madison Aurora Bouwer - their little angel. Suddenly, the rollercoaster of judgment and the months of dating in secret were all worth it.
After spending six years together Zane and Delnay desperately wanted to get engaged, but the pandemic made it difficult for the young family to think about anything other than surviving. An engagement ring simply did not fit their budget. Until they stumbled upon the Gems & Stuff website!
On 17 October 2021, on a weekend away, Zane and Delnay hiked up a koppie in Oudshoorn in search of Eland and Springbok and finally got engaged with a ring Zane had been carrying with him for more than two months and their sweet little Madison as a witness.
For us, at Gems & Stuff, it has been such a pleasure to play a small part in Zane, Delnay and Madison’s big journey. And we are so excited for these two to tie the knot in early 2022.
