It feels like it was yesterday that I met my queen on Tik Tok on October 2023. It was about liking and commenting each other's videos and then one video where I post my parents' 38 year anniversary video is where she commented my mother looks like my mother. From there, I made the first move. From getting her number to doing whatsapp messages, videocalls and doing some tik toks together... from a distance.
Yes, she is from Matatiele, Eastern Cape and I'm from Vryburg, North West. Those 10 hours apart never stopped me from visiting her for the first time in a province that I have never been before. She thought I was joking, but she was so surprised.
Seeing her in her hometown, despite travelling with a bus for 26 hours, was the greatest thing ever. It feels like love at first sight. Exploring her home town, meeting her wonderful family. It is bliss.
We visited each other. She also visited me in Vryburg where she never travelled before and it was amazing. My whole family is crazy about her and they want to keep her here with me the whole time🤣🤣
Despite the distance and work commitments, my 3rd visit to her is where dreams really came true. 2 August was the engagement date. She thought it was a picnic, but it was actually the engagement proposal. Thanks to my in laws that came to help me, she said yes before I could pop the question. I have never been so happy before in my life and this happened before my birthday the next day. It was the greatest birthday present ever.
